Project Roots and Wings building a bridge between WHO YOU ARE and WHO YOU ARE BECOMING!
Today Scott is joined by his friend Jeff Addo. Those who know Jeff know him as a musical artist, or a friend, a fiancé, or any number of identities that Jeff lives out. Scott and Jeff jump in to a conversation that Scott and Emily have been having for over a decade. What makes a GOOD person. This is not merely a theological question, but a deeply philosophical one. It is a driving force that runs throughout our coaching and mentoring here at Project Roots and Wings.
This episode started out with Jeff giving his definition of masculinity. That definition became a launching point for Scott and Jeff to take the conversation to the need for strong and comprehensive male role models, the importance of family, and how certain principles have guided Jeff from an early age to become the man he is today.
Some of these guiding principles are:
Efficacy – The belief that you can accomplish what you set out to do.
Integrity – Adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty.
Authenticity – Not false or copied, representing one’s true nature or beliefs; true to oneself or to the person identified.
Humility – Not thinking of yourself as less but thinking of yourself less often.
Gratitude – The quality or feeling of being grateful or thankful.
This is not meant to be an exhaustive list. These are the ones that stuck out to Scott as he was listening and editing.
If you want to be a GOOD man or woman it is imperative that you have core principles that guide you and a community that supports you.
